Proposed Organic Fees Restructure

The Texas Department of Agriculture has conducted an evaluation of the Organic Certification Program and has sought input from industry stakeholders concerning the current status of the program. The TDA is now proposing a fee restructure concerning the fees charged for certification services or to discontinue the program if the program participants are not in support of the fee restructure proposal. The fee restructure is necessary to comply with changes made to the department’s organic certification program by the 82nd Texas Legislature. The Legislature has required that in order for the program to continue operating, all of the cost of administering the program must be entirely offset by revenue generated for the program.
