Texas Department of Agriculture Awards $414,000 to School, Community Organizations to Combat Childhood Obesity

AUSTIN - As childhood obesity becomes an increasingly pressing public health concern, nutrition education will play a vital role in Texas schools. Recognizing this, the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) today announced $414,000 has been awarded to 112 school campuses and community organizations through its Nutrition Outreach Program. The program was created to help fund better health and nutrition practices to prevent obesity among Texas children.
