Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller:  Biden Administration's Bureaucratic Attacks on Agriculture Must Cease

Austin - Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller hailed the filing of the lawsuit challenging the designation of the Lesser Prairie Chicken as an endangered species by the Biden Administration’s Environmental Protection Agency.  The Texas Department of Agriculture is a named plaintiff in the lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who successfully achieved an injunction last week in federal court preventing these new rules from taking effect.

“Just as Texas is beginning to recover from historic freezes, record heat and drought over the past three years, now the Biden Administration drops this regulatory nugget on our farmers and ranchers as they are getting to work with spring planting and livestock breeding.  How much will this add to our already rising food costs?” said Commissioner Sid Miller.

“This is the same song yet different dance with this White House: they make ridiculous policies; we (Texas) sue and then we beat them in Court - just as we did with the Obama administration.”

“My message to Texas Agriculture is simple: do your thing, plant and grow your crops, breed your livestock - and we’ll win in Court again when this case goes to trial.  The Attorney General has my full confidence in this lawsuit. Folks in Agriculture need to know that we’ve got their back.”
