Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Monday negotiated cash trading has been at a standstill in the Southern Plains, Nebraska and the Western Cornbelt. Last week in the Southern Plains and Nebraska live cash trades moved at 124.00 and dressed cash trades, in Nebraska, moved at 197.00. For the prior week in the Western Cornbelt live cash trades moved from 122.00-124.00, on a light test, and dressed cash trades moved at 197.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report:

Alberta direct cattle sales Last week light trade develop with weighted average steer and heifer prices closing the week at 160.75 and 159.50 respectively. Prices are 0.25 higher than the previous week. Looking at the non-fed market, compared to the end of December butcher cows are trading 5.00 higher through commercial auction facilities. Butcher cow and fed cattle prices are trading below year ago levels.
