Daily Market Summary for April 10th

Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Wednesday in the Southern Plains, trading and demand have been moderate. Compared to last week live cash trades moved steady at 124.00. So far for Wednesday in the Northern Plains and Western Cornbelt trading has been limited with light demand. Not enough trades in these feeding regions for a full market trend. For the prior week in Nebraska live trades were from 126.00-126.50 with the bulk at 126.00. Dressed purchases were from 204.00-206.00. In Colorado last week, live trades were at 126.00. For the previous week in the Western Cornbelt live and dressed trades were from 127.00-128.00 and 204.00-206.00, respectively.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report:

Alberta direct cattle sales Tuesday saw no new trade to report but there is a chance scattered trade could develop by this afternoon. Technical price levels are unchanged from the beginning of the week. There have been rumblings steady money is being bid. There were some fed calves that sold last week however most of the cattle on offer are still yearlings.
