Slaughter Cattle:  

As of 3:00 PM Monday, negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all feeding regions. The latest established market in any feeding region was last week, with live purchases in the Texas Panhandle at 112.00, on a light test. In Kansas last week, live purchases traded at 110.00 on a very light test. Last week in Nebraska, live purchases traded at 113.00 with dressed purchases from 184.00-186.00 on a light test. In the Western Cornbelt last week, live purchases traded from 114.00-116.00 with dressed purchases from 184.00-186.00.

Alberta Beef Producers Daily Report: Alberta CA

Alberta direct cattle sales last week saw average steer prices trending mostly steady with the previous week while average heifer prices eased around $1/cwt lower. The majority of reported sales were dressed from $240-246/cwt delivered. Western Canadian fed cattle slaughter for the week ending June 8th surged 12% larger to 46,431 head and was the largest weekly fed slaughter so far this year.
