WEST INDIAN FRUIT FLY QUARANTINE

QUARANTINE REGULATIONS

TDA’s West Indian Fruit Fly Quarantine regulations are found in the Texas Administrative Code Title 4, Chapter 19, Subchapter O, Rule §§19.150-19.154.

INFESTED GEOGRAPHIC AREAS SUBJECT TO THE QUARANTINE

Per Rule §19.502 of the quarantine, the following areas are infested geographical areas subject to the quarantine:

NOTE: Currently there are no quarantined areas.


CHRONOLOGY

04/22/2015. Adopted new Rule §19.151 and amendments to Rule §§19.152--19.154 became effective on this date. New Rule §19.151 streamlines the process of designating, modifying or deregulating quarantined areas. Amendments to Rule §19.152 revise the definition of regulated article. Amendments to Rule §19.153 revise restrictions on the treatment and movement of the quarantined articles, and amendments to §19.154 revise requirements relating to quarantined areas and core areas.
 
04/09/2015. The Brownsville Quarantined Area, previously (09/04/2014) modified (below) is hereby declared to be no longer quarantined for West Indian fruit fly. This quarantined area included areas in Cameron County.
 
09/04/2014. The Brownsville Quarantined Area, including areas in Cameron County, previously (08/28/2014) modified (below) is hereby modified.
 
08/28/2014. The Brownsville Quarantined Area, including areas in Cameron County, previously (08/26/2014) added to the areas quarantined is hereby modified.
 
08/26/2014. The Brownsville Quarantined Area, including areas in Cameron County, is hereby declared and established and added to the areas quarantined under Rule §19.151(a), and Brownsville Core Area 1 of the Brownsville Quarantined Area is hereby added to the core areas declared under §19.151(b).

08/20/2014. The department filed emergency amendments to the West Indian Fruit Fly Quarantine (Title 4, Chapter 19, Subchapter O); the emergency quarantine became effective upon filing. The Brownsville Quarantined Area, in Cameron County, is hereby added to the quarantined areas in Rule §19.503(a), and Brownsville Core Area 1 of the Brownsville Quarantined Area is hereby added to the core areas declared under Rule 19.502(b).
