Organic certifying agents must be registered with the department prior to providing organic certification services to a producer, processor, distributor or retailer in Texas. The Organic certifying agent is required to submit an application, list of certified businesses in Texas, and a nonrefundable $75 annual fee.  All organic certifying agents operating in Texas must be accredited by the USDA National Organic Program.
